Drabble

I remember when things were fine. I would walk to my favorite cafe around 1 AM sitting in the back booth, ordering an iced caramel mocha, and have my music play. I would blissfully

I watched customers come in and out and how the stars disappeared from the sky as it got late. Everything was so simple, so calming. I remember walking back home, I remember the jeans I had on, I remember how the gravel felt against the souls of my shoes, I remember how I smiled at the stupidest video on my phone. I remember when things were fine, until it wasn't. I remember the tears streaming down my face, I remember how the blood stained my palms and the brown carpet beneath me, I remember frantically looking for a phone while hyperventilating, I remember the sight of two corpses in my parents bedroom

A Conversation On A Death Bed

“Look at me...” I struggle to turn my head. The room grew cold, and thick. To think the last person I’ll see is a girl I ruined, degraded, used, belittled, manipulated. As all those moments flashback I can’t help but smile as I watch a tear fall from her eyes. Oh how I get so excited to see her upset, what a sweet sight to witness.

“I can’t believe I let myself fall in love with someone like you, someone so…” I watch her search for her word as she stares back at me. It’s her fault anyways, she should have known better. No one told her to believe every I love you I whispered or every ‘comforting’ kiss I gave. No one told her to be so pathetic that even on my deathbed, I still have every inch of her under my control.

“I hope you know that once I’m gone, you’ll be useless,” I cough up, watching her lip quiver as I smirk.

“No one will love you like I ever will, no one will ever see you for anything but the whore body your shitty personality dwells in, you are nothing without-”

“Shut up!” She yelled, and I laughed. And I laughed. And I cackled. My eyes started to water as I watched her wrap her hands around my throat. Each tightening squeeze makes my lips part wider. As everything starts to fade, I admit, I did love her. I loved every time I yelled. I loved her when I hit her. I loved her when she cried. I even loved her when she was begging me to stop. I loved hurting her. I’ve never been so in love with someone so much that I waste my time pretending to care. And I love the fact that when everything goes black, she’ll be sitting in a jail cell, Thinking of me.

An Interesting Interaction

I waited by the porch steps for Ellias to come pick me up. Kyro wanted to go to the cafe with us after work so Viri and I are going to pick him up from the tattoo shop then head to the townhouse Cafe. It was only around 2pm, and we wanted to get there before 3’oclock traffic hit. People are literally in such a rush that they forget how to drive during that hour. I look down at my phone scrolling through instagram, my feed is pretty much filled with art and what my friends post. I don't follow many people but I do have a small reputation on my page. I hum running my free hand through my hair as I hear a car horn honk getting closer. That must be him. I look up brushing myself off seeing the royal blue Ford pull up in front of me. Weird, he came up the other side of the street. I opened the backseat door, tossing my bag down next to me as I sat down.

“Hey, you look preppy today.” I sneered, raising my eyebrow as the car pulled off.

“That’s rich coming from you.” He smiles, fixing the collar on his sleeve with his hand still on the wheel. He's wearing somewhat more formal attire today; collared shirt, jewelry, and overall looking like he's going on a date. I laughed to myself quietly as the radio played in the background. I know he's a simp for Kyro but it's getting painfully obvious, at least in my perspective.

"Yeah yeah, Did you come back from the library or something? You came down the opposite street this time." I asked, cocking my head to the side hearing him sigh up front.

"Yeah, I had to return a few books I finished. I'm thinking about reading Lisey's Story by Stephen King." My eyes perked up recognizing the name. Stephen King is known for his work in the horror genre. Lots of his books got made into movies like IT or Carrie.

"Oh I never expected you to read something like that. I'm sure you'll like it though." I shrug as we pull up in front of the tattoo parlor seeing Kyro leaning against the window of the building.

"I'm trying out something new, I need a break from my usual." I hear Eli  reply as he pulls up to the curb turning his hazard lights on. I yell out Kyros name as Eli and I motions to him to get in. We caught his attention and he smiled, opening the passenger door quickly hoping in.

"Yo what's up?" He breathed out as I waved and Ellias's cheeks lit a light pink.

"Hey, how was work?" Eli asked, pulling off the main west road.

"Actually kinda sad, a girl wanted a cover up of her ex's name because he cheated. She’s a bad bitch about it but I still felt bad." He huffed, leaning his arm against the door with a slight smile on his face.

"Poor girl, I bet her Ex is beating the air right now." Eli chuckled, rolling his eyes as I wheezed out in laughter. Kyro nodded in agreement.

"I bet he is."

The Final Stretch and the Quiet Between

I know it’s been a while—way too long—and for that, I owe you an apology. Things have been chaotic lately. Between finishing up my combined...
